Cassettes

Who'd have thought? Cassettes seem to me to be the most dispensible form of music recording ever invented, particularly as they deteriorate so rapidly as the oxides fall off the tape.

Apparently, according to an article in yesterday's Age Green Guide there is life in the format yet. Most interesting is that Greg Williams at Dex Audio now runs Australia's only cassette manufacturing plant (along with CD and DVD services). I remember many years ago being a bit leery of his suggestion that we should have put out a cassette, as we were so committed to the longevity of the vinyl format :).

I probably should dig out the old band demos and see if there's any life left on those cassettes for digitisation purposes - after 25 years it seems unlikely.

The Ink #3!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Here it finally is, The Ink #3, with my wraparound cover. Here's the original picture, and below you'll find a photo of the comic itself taken by Tonia Walden, who copublished this issue with me, and who has been absolutely invaluable in seeing it through to fruition (I totally recommend any of her other books as well).

Aaron Burgess of Comics Australia originally compiled the majority of the work in The Ink #3, along with the two previous issues, published under his FlatFly Media imprint, hence there are many conclusions of ongoing tales in here, as well as many fine standalone pieces.
Thanks to all who contributed!

The stories continue!

Yesterday, The Ink #2 arrived unexpectedly in the mail! It's nicely printed and a diverse, eclectic, fine anthology comic, though definitely adult in content.

Riffin' to Oblivion, Part 2, is in the middle! I have mixed feelings about this one being out there, as it is kind of personal, but it also features some of my favourite pages of artwork, so maybe I'll preview one here soon. The Comics Australia website is featuring it right now, and the Phase Two Comics shop online are stocking it.

Over the weekend, I completed Children of the Moon, Part 3, and drove over the misty hill to my sister-in-law's place last night to scan it. I just posted it off!

Work is as busy as ever. They seem to have a lot of meetings here. Doing staff assessments is kind of stressful.
